As always, these placings are subjective on my part, but hopefully this will give you a good idea of how things are likely going to. U said turks are the worst, it's probably the best civ for me with mongols chinese & huns. Maybe on map like Dark Forrest or how is it called. But the other 3 civs excel on very specific maps: Malay on water maps, Burmese on Arena and Vietnamese on Nomad.The best civ varies by map and if it's a team game or not.I would say that the 'best' civ is the one that excels on the most maps.If we're talking about The Conquerors and you have to go into a fully random map, Vikings are pretty good on some land maps and unbeatable on water maps so they are usually the safest pick.

Going xbows allows to get to imp faster for woads and going knights allows you to switch into infantry when he plays your game with counters like Pikes/Camels or Siege with mass xbows.It's for this reason I love the Celts, they aren't my favourite civ but early game and late game, they can stand up pretty decently against every civ.

Hello, By watching the top players in AoE2HD Edition I've found out that most top players are basically best with the same civs. It depends on maps, enemy civ, team combos etc.
They eat sheep as fast as they eat boar. All trademarks are property of their respective owners in the US and other countries. 7 out of 8 took Saracens. Goth are kinda the bottom tier though, you could watch Hera top-civ list (no eco bonus, kinda one trick poney, good in early imp only).
For other specific settings, please refer to the preset descriptions. The Burmese seem to be really similar to the Aztecs in what their map strengths are.
i know its somewhat a dumb question, but as the new expansion hit combined with a big balance patch i wonder which civs are considered to be the better ones and with are a bit lacklusteri know that an exact answer will depend on the map and other parameters but some are always a bit aheadA good all round civ would be Celts, they're decent on open maps and amazing on closed and not too bad early water until lategame where the lack of bracer hurts. 92.2k members in the aoe2 community.
